I always thought wonderful and dentist in the same sentence was an oxymoron but Dr. Cheng and his team proved me wrong, truly wonderful experience start to finish! Everyone is kind and competent. Dr Cheng introduced me to 'bonding' when you use a tooth colored porcelain to fill in the gaps in between my teeth. I'm so happy and proud of my smile!! Check them out, you won't be disappointed! |

I have been a patient here for 3 years and absolutely love the staff and Dr Chan. They are very friendly and considerate. Had nothing but good experiences here! |

I had a great experience here at this dental office with their amazing staff. I was suggested from a good friend to get my check-up, teeth cleaning, and teeth whitening. The turn out was amazing, feels good to have my teeth cleaned and whitened. The staff are very friendly to you and Dr. C is very nice. I highly recommend them because of their professionalism, setup and teamwork. The office is also very clean with a modern look. If you are looking for good dental work, look no further, this is your place. You will leave the place feeling like a new person with a new smile! :) |

You see I'm a horrible patient. I will pretend there's nothing wrong with me even if I'm burning up with a fever or have a broken bone, and then I will hobble my way around until I'm about to pass out. Staying true to this moronic behavior of mine, I deliberately ignored a tooth ache for a few months until it reached a point of being unbearable and I found myself reluctantly sitting in Dr. Michelle Lee's dental chair waiting to get a root canal. And then I became fan for life. Dentists have it worse than Accountants. No one likes them and that's just never really going to change. But Dr. Lee is one of those few dentists who not only is fantastic her job but also incredibly efficient. She will patiently explain every step of the procedure and discuss alternatives and after-care and is quite possibly the only dentist I've been to who's done nearly pain-free dental procedures. And on top of that she is a very warm, friendly woman with a great bedside manner, always checking up on me and asking me how I was doing. Everyone, right from the front desk to all the hygienists, are incredibly friendly and professional. They're excellent when it comes to scheduling appointments and follow up visits and managing insurance documents. They're prompt to respond if you have a slightly urgent situation at hand, and generally make life so much easier by being on top of things. I think you should believe me when I say this could be one of the best dental offices in Toronto. |

I have never taken the time to write a review online, but my experience at Dr. Chan's office was so good that I have to leave her and her staff a great review. I am one who does NOT like to go to the dentist and it had been about two years since I had been. Before coming, I had read other positive reviews about her and her responses to others online which persuaded me that she seems to be a thorough dentist who knows her work, which is what I wanted. So I decided to give her a try. I was not disappointed. One of her hygienists, Jennifer, who worked on me, did a great job of asking questions of personal medical and dental history, comforting me while taking x-rays, taking measurements on my gums (this is the part I especially don't like at the dentist, but this was the best experience I can remember having), and doing my cleaning. I wanted a thorough cleaning job. She told me that is what she planned to do and that is what I feel I received. She was so positive and for me that is a BIG plus. Afterwards Dr. Chan came in and followed up. She was very easy to talk to. I just liked her as a person. Now I actually look forward to going back in for my next checkup because I believe they are helping me have healthier teeth and gums. |

Dr. Chan and the whole staff are amazing! I have never liked going to a dentist's office and have avoided it for the past few years after moving to Toronto, but Dr. Chan and her team makes me feel at ease. I first visited Dr. Chan for a second opinion. (The first dentist I went to in Toronto was very disappointing. I felt like they just wanted my money and I saw the dentist for a total of two minutes, if that.) However Dr. Chan spent a lot of time with me during my first appointment telling me everything I needed to get done. She was very sweet but very honest about the treatments I needed. She was easy to talk to and very understanding. She was able to answer all my questions and come up with a treatment plan for me. It did not feel like the appointment was rushed. She is a wonderful dentist! I also really hate getting local anesthesia but she made it less painful. She's good at what she does. All the hygienists that I've done cleanings with have been great as well! They are all so knowledgeable and good at informing me every step they're about to do. On top of that, this facility is extremely nice, new and clean. It has been very easy to make appointments and I've never had any issues with billing or insurance. I was always well informed about how much each procedure was prior to getting the treatment. I've had to reschedule an appointment last minute due to work and they were kind enough to waive the cancellation fee. I've also never had to wait more than 5 minutes to be seen. Everyone is extremely friendly and accommodating! I highly recommended Dr. Chan and her team to anyone looking for a great dentist and a nice, clean dental office. |

I am a nervous dental patient and most likely very trying for the dental staff. I have been going to this dental office for about 3 years now and I would like to thank Dr. Cheng and all the staff for their patience and understanding. They are always smiling and easy to talk to. I assume they are trying to make me concentrate on something else other than the work going on in my mouth. I just want them to know that I appreciate all their efforts and, of course, the great care they have given me. |

My experience here was horrible. I went here as a student using green shield and taking advantage of their fully subsidized exam and cleaning. The cleaning was mediocre and the service was not great, I would have given them 3/5 stars for the visit. A few days later, I received a call about a shadow on my x-ray. I asked questions to try to understand what the issue could be, and the secretary I was speaking just kept saying "I don't know". She then said they were referring me to an oral surgeon, which would cost $100 for the consultation alone and my green shield was expiring. I do not even have any symptoms, such as pain or discomfort and so I was very doubtful that there was even a real issue. I went to my physician in order to get a second opinion and to maybe see if I could get a referral to an ENT specialist covered by OHIP as the shadow was in my sinus area. Physician called dentist several times in attempt to get more information, dentist's secretary refused to send my information over to them, and then called me and told me "your physician was asking us why you were bothering them with this issue and not seeing an oral surgeon as we suggested". I doubt that my physician said that, seeing as she is the one who suggested contacting them in the first place. I told them to please send my documentation to my physician as I requested and they continued to harass me about my decision to visit my physician, asking why I made this decision (none of their business) and telling me I was wrong for doing so. I went back to the physician after the dentist neglected to send them my documentation many times despite me having signed an official document stating that I give permission to have my medical documents transferred. My physician ultimately said that this dentist is not reliable and is very difficult to work with. My physician said that unless I feel any major symptoms I have nothing to worry about for the time being, and that if anything, I should see another dentist for a second opinion and not an oral surgeon at this time. Shortly after, I received another call from this dental office telling me not to trust my physician's opinion and to go to the oral surgeon they recommended me to. They are extremely pushy. I cannot understand how it is ethical at all to harass me for my decision to visit a physician for a second opinion, and to refuse to send MY personal medical information to another authorized doctor. This place is sketchy, unethical, untrustworthy and extremely unprofessional. |

I'm rewriting a review on the previous post I made. This time I'm getting into specific details because I'm annoyed. What annoys me the most was I schedule to come back to them Friday February 21 2014 to have them do a filling redo and I was assigned to Dr. Lee. With all the complaints I've done about him and how I expressed my dislike of his services and even though I've request in the past to see another Dr there, wouldn't they think I would be best to see another doctor? They have many dentists there! I felt instigated there and that they continue to provoke the situation. After I saw Dr. Lee I immediately said "I don't want to see him". The manager was sitting right there at the receptionist desk in front of the computer when I said it. Out of all the people there I thought she would have some understanding and sympathy for her client because after I said I didn't want to see Dr. Lee she smirked and smiled then looked at Dr. Lee. She finds this amusing. She then told me "I thought it is best you see Dr. Lee as he worked on you before." I replied back saying "with all the complaints I've had about him I would of just thought you would give me someone else." for a short moment of silent without them having anything to say about the matter Dr. Lee started talking to me. He asked about the issues that I'm having then told me to let him have a look. A look meaning he is not going to do anything this time. So I walk with him to where he does his work. I sat on the patient's chair and start to tell him the problems I'm facing and that I’m not happy with his services. With all that he told his eagle is a bit broken, sounds like he was on a roll. I told him “my upper right second molar has a hole in it. I think you missed that.” His responds was “is there really?” He checked it and then tried to cover up his tracks saying “I did the big part first. Remember I told you that you need to come back” I don’t remember such words from him because I came back a week or 2 complaining sensitivities and pain in the teeth he worked on. That time he told me to give it a month or 2 and it should go away and he went ahead and did work on the first and second premolar. He totally missed my second molar. I also came back many times seeing different dentist there and were referred to a specialist. With some common sense there is contradiction there. They use this gray fillings on my molars. This is the first time I’ve seen it. All the other times I see white or silver but I’m experiencing pain and sensitivities at the fillings. I saw another dentist after and they say that it’s unusual when they would just touch the fillings lightly and I feel pain. I’m still feeling pain there after 2 months now. To reply to the post of that other person, I didn't notice the receptionist giving me those attitude at the time, perhaps they learn from your complaints.. I know this post will reach the College Dental as my last one did.. They talked to me over the phone about it but what I'm trying to say is that I'm not trying to be insulting or offensive in my post towards College Dental but I don't know how else to put it in words. They made me felt somewhat the same way today Friday February 21 2014 as how that person felt. They were giving me a lot of attitude like they don’t like me. I'm willing to give them a chance because on Wednesday February 19 2014 I went in person to talk to the manager there. She sounded nice and willing to help me out to resolve the issue. She mentioned I didn’t give her a chance but I’m giving her a chance. She was nice to me then and I was nice back and I wouldn’t of written this re-review this long until she rebooked me for Friday with Dr. Lee and giving attitude and raising her voice. Then after she booked me to come back on March 6 and I asked her “can I come back sooner is this is kind of an emergency.” But she said she doesn’t have free doctors till then. On Wednesday talking to her I felt she was building a trust relationship with her client.. Me. And trying to resolve some dispute. But after Friday I felt she was playing me and betrayed my emotions and that she cares more about business and her staffs and not about her client or a human being. I tried calling back today February 24 Monday and I was told the same. All I need is an X-ray for those teeth and to know if I need a root canal or an extract or if they can fix the problems they made. If it’s a root canal or an extract then I’m not going to follow through that with them. I apologize for name calling Dr. Lee on my previous post but I admit there was negligence on his part. I don’t understand a lot of dentist terms and I correct myself for mentioning re-root canal.. I don’t know the different between what he did because he was putting those pins in the teeth like what is done on a root canal. So the manager said it’s not a re-root canal then it’s not. So they are going to try to use that 1 contradiction in my previous post to contradict everything I say by calling me a liar for everything just so that they can protect their eagle and business. There are bad reviews of this place all over the internet but I’m the one that suffered the most. That is the second reason I went there after my initial reason was to get a panorex but since I was told that I was booked for fillings I thought I shouldn’t waste their time and go a long with the fillings.. I was tricked into getting fillings and thous leaving me to all these complications. I'd like to say originally I went there asking to get a full mouth x-ray also known as a panorex. So they told me my insurance will not cover it and just gave me the normal x-rays. I accepted what they told me and with the x-rays they took I was told I have over a dozen cavities and that was it. I never wanted to go back there for fillings too. One day I brought my wife over because she was complaining pain in a tooth that had a root canal done on back home. The same doctor who told me I couldn’t have a panorex gave her one. I felt as though I was being robbed in the face. And when they were doing work on her tooth the x-ray machine usb cord or some was broken and they took over a dozen x-rays just to get 1 develop picture. Because my wife got a panorex I wanted one too. It’s not like I don’t have the money to pay for one. It’s because if I could get it for free then why waste my money. The reasons why I want a panorex are because my jaw is a bit misaligned and it cracks. Before I went to see a dentist office next to my physio, whose specialize in braces. They told me I would need a panorex. Their office doesn’t take my insurance and they suggested I can try a dentist that takes OSDP. I gave that a shot at College Dental and was forced in surgery. Once I have my panorex I’ll go back to my previous dentist and have them take a look. That place was awesome because they suggested me panorex. All other dentists overlook my concerns and say “it’s not a big deal.” College dental said the same thing and told me having a panorex will do nothing. You know I’m desperate to have my teeth getting fixed up but I’m not going to beg them to help me. There are so many dentists out there and just because some of them don’t feel comfortable in fixing up other peoples mess doesn’t mean all of them feel the same way. I was somehow tricked into getting work done on my teeth. Because when I went there asking for a panorex the receiptionist told me to talk with the doctor about it. I asked if I can talk to the doctor then but she told me the doctor is busy and to wait till my appointment date. All I went there for was a panorex. I didn’t go there for fillings but the doctor thought it was best for me and messed it up. And because they booked me for it I didn’t want to waste their time.. You know that stuff is human weakness that they took advantage of.. Just because I’m on ODSP doesn’t mean I’m not human or a normal person. I have a lot more to say but this takes a long time to write and I have things I like to do like enjoying life! I’m filing a complaint to the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario. |

Clearly this dental place sucks.. Both me and my wife went there because we were complaining about pain in the tooth of a root canal. The Dr there name Dr. Lee acts as though he is a specialist and redo the root canal. Afterwards over a month and a half we both experience sensitivities with cold and hot food or drink in that one tooth. I went there today and they told me to go see a specialist about it. Even I could feel the overheating temperature of that one tooth when consuming hot beverages and my original appointment was to get a full mouth x-ray cause my wife got that when she first came to the place. I requested that when I first went there but they didn't give it to me but instead later on gave it to my wife and still they wouldn't give it to me. We are on ODSP and instead I got fillings. I even went back 1 time to get it checked out and the dr went a head and give me more fillings.. Greedy dirty little dentist. |

I completely agree about the reception staff. All the receptionists I have spoken to seem to hate their jobs, and are not friendly what-so-ever. They talk to you as if it is YOUR privilege to be served by them with a "know your place" attitude. When I got my teeth cleaned, I was not given fluoride, mouthwash...or a polishing! Very unacceptable for a regular dental cleaning. The girl I got was not gentle at all and only smiled when my gums were bleeding and I was moaning in pain. This place clearly only survives off students' benefits. When I asked why I wasn't getting fluoride, she said that "your tuition doesn't include it." I offered to pay extra to have it provided but she said "It's not my job, speak to receptionist"....excuse me? The only positive notes of my visit were the nice location, cleanliness and the senior dentist. In other words...this place sucks. I wouldn't be surprised if the rest of the staff was working without pay or did not obtain their degrees yet. Clearly they have very minimal experience. |
