| While I hate to post an unfavorable review( I actually used to like the guy)" Dr." Brown's conduct leaves me little choice.
Mr. Brown took over my original dentists practice after an illness forced Dr. Hodges to retire.
The first indication of a problem occurred when we had to move our children to a different dentist; the friendly service of our old dentist was replaced by practice that seemed to herd us through like cattle, hard and fast being the order of the day.
I broke a tooth that Mr. Brown suggested be extracted and replaced with a bridge. This work was covered by an employer supplied dental plan.
Dr. Brown installed an all porcelain bridge, and at that time when I was asked to bite down on it a very loud snap was heard, causing Dr. Brown to exclaim "what was that?". Nothing was brought to my attention at that time to indicate there might be a problem with the bridge.
My next appointment with a different dentist revealed that the all porcelain bridge was broken, and I was quoted $3000.00 Cdn. to replace it. Contact with Dr. Brown's Prince George office revealed a refusal to warranty the work based on the time frame that had passed from the date the work was done.
I have since come to sincerely believe that the bridge was broken during the installation, and the loud snap both Dr. Brown and I heard was indicative of this being the case.
I again asked that Dr.Brown's office give this issue some serious thought; the loud snap that we all heard was enough to raise questions with Dr.Brown, and could not be caused by the work being done if all were as it should be. While the use of an all porcelain bridge on an adult male is not recommended by the other dentists I have consulted, and a break in the bridge may have escaped detection at the time of installation, there is little doubt in my mind that this is in fact what happened.
While the replacement has caused considerable additional discomfort, expense, and time lost during my vacation, I asked only to be reimbursed for the actual cost of the work required to replace the broken bridge. "Dr." Brown's office has ignored all requests to discuss this issue, and left me no choice but to pursue other options for a remedy.
